Despite the vast amount of skills and talents that exist in the world, one principle rings true for all of them: practice makes perfect. Or if you want to get technical: perfect practice makes perfect. So, anyone who has developed a skill or trade knows the temptation to settle for good enough. Photography is no different - it's easy to learn your camera and find your comfort zone and settle into that. For us, natural light is our comfort zone. We love everything about sunshine, especially around golden hour, hazy overcast days and big windows for shooting indoors. However, as wedding photographers, it is essential to be prepared for all types of lighting situations, so we are constantly learning and practicing new methods of shooting. We did this session with our good friends, Hannah and Marcus Miller to practice some different nighttime flash techniques - which is essential to know for night time weddings. Hannah and Marcus were great models and stood out in the cold for us while we blinded them repeatedly. I'm so grateful for friends that can make practice lots of fun - and for the beautiful photos we came away with! I hope you enjoy the cute photos - and even a few fun behind the scenes shots Evan snapped of me!
